Keeping statistic is a normal part of overseeing any world-class collection, like the one we have here at the Ryerson Burnham Libraries. There are many reasons to keep track of these statistics.
- Making sure we are receiving every issue as they are published
- Knowing when processing items becomes too much for 1 person
- Meeting quotas for the bindery shipment
Currently, analytics are being kept within the Current Serials spreadsheet and updated everyday.
Collected Statistics:
- Received/Donated Serials
- Received/Donated Auction catalogs
- Serials to-be Bound
- Serials to-be shelved
- Volumes ready for bindery
- Original cataloging done
- Processed catalogs
